BPH
(benign prostate hyperplasia):
BPH is a
non-cancerous process that occurs in the majority of men as they
age. It produces symptoms including slowing of the urine
stream and nighttime urinating. Common treatments include
medications (Flomax, tamsulosin, Cardura, doxazosin, Hytrin,
terazosin,
Proscar, finasteride), minor procedures (TUMT (Thermatrx), microwave, VLAP,
laser, WIT, water thermotherapy, prostate stents, TUNA, radio
wave) and surgical procedures (TURP, TUIP, open prostatectomy).
